ANGELS SHOW NO MERCY

The Bear River Angels jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the second frame when hosting the Penn Valley Giants Saturday afternoon. The visiting team's number four hitter proceeded to drive a Jake Leonard fast ball over the left field fence. The Angels hard throwing lefty maintained composure to strike out the next two Giant batters as his team's lead was cut to three at 7-4 in the top of the fourth. Bear River stepped up to Sierra Foothill's scoring challenge and scored seven runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. The Angel's rally was capped by a walk off single to left field by Jordan Elliott to end the game by way of mercy rule at 14-4. Leonard earned the win for the Angels who are on a 9 game win streak. Bear River's manager Sean Solomon awarded a game ball to catcher Owen Dalbon and third baseman Dean Hopper, both of which went 3-3 on the day.

The Angels are back in action on Thursday when they take on the Bear River Dodgers at 7.
