BEAR RIVER TRACK AND FIELD

REGULAR SEASON ENDS ON A HIGH NOTE!  Congratulations to the Bear River Track and Field team for finishing the regular season with some outstanding performances.  26 teams and over 500 athletes converged on Nevada Union High School for the Kays / Ostrom Nevada Union Invitational last Friday.  The Bruins showed up in force with great performances by Tyler Pool (3rd in the 800m), Alex Coffman (8th in the 1600m and 7th in the 3200m), Janelle Jensen (1st in her 1600m heat), Lauren Sheppard (recorded personal records in shot and discus), and Kendal Nielsen (1st in the 100m and 2nd in the 200m).  The meet closed with two exciting races and two new school records.  The 4 x 400m teams of Kendal Nielsen, Breanna Gatto, Erica Higley, Malone Pearson, and DeVaughn Lofton, Austin Dowling, Tyler Pool, and CJ Olsen finished 1st and 3rd respectively replacing their previous school records.  The race for the State Meet begins this week with PVL Championships at Colfax High School.  GO BRUINS!  (Vasquez)
