FISHING A NEW SPOT - USE TOPO MAPS

Have you wanted to fish in a new spot but you just don't know where to begin. Over the year I have discovered a few tricks to assist me in finding that spot. First thing to look for is a map of the area you would like to try.

Click here for some maps of various rivers and lakes.

Once you have located the river or stream you think might hold fish then you will want to use google earth with topographic maps. If you can not get to the spot then look for another way to get in or move on. If it looks tough to hike into the canyon then I'm sure it is tougher than you think.

Be safe and be prepared  You don't want to caught in a tough spot. Read the maps thoroughly and if you are not sure how to read topographical maps then watch this video.
