BEAR RIVER VOLLEYBALL COURT IS SET - SECTION FINAL


This time of year fall sport athletes are either playing toward a section championship or they are at home thinking about what might have been or they are getting ready for their winter sport of choice. At Bear River High School their are 20 plus girls who have put their winter plans on hold for a reason.

Bear River High School's volleyball team has earned a chance at the Sac-Joaquin section title on Thursday at UC Davis at8 p.m. where they will take on Ripon Christian. The Lady Bruin blew out Sonora on Tuesday night in three sets by a score of 25-4, 25-23, 25-15 while Ripon defeated Escalon 3-1.

Ripon has won 11 consecutive contests while Bear River has won eight matches without dropping a set. The Bruins are a hot team who could be poised for the title.

The Bruins return to the Section championship game for the second consecutive season. In 2011 they fell short but this years nine seniors know what it will take to to raise the banner in their home gymnasium.
