BEAR RIVER CROSS COUNTRY SECTION RESULTS

Bear River High School finished the season by racing the Willow Hill Cross Country Course at the Sac Joaquin Section race on Saturday.  Expectations were high for the Bruins but unfortunately they came up short and did not qualify any runners for the State Meet.

The bright spots on the day where performances by the varsity girls which included PVL Individual Champion Mary Nattrass who finished 8th overall in a time of 20:30 and Sierra Mitchell who placed 18th in a time of 21:14 for the 5K course.

For the JV girls, Olivia Kirks and Erica Higley made the medals stand with a 15th and 17th place finish respectively.  Freshman standout Patrick Gillis finished the Bruin's day of racing by turning in a personal record performance of 12:49 for the 3300m course and a 13th place finish.

While Bear River fell short of their goals for the season, Coach Vasquez was proud of the performance his team put out on the course.  "The Bruins gutted it out against some tough competition.  I'm proud of this team for a good season of racing."
