PLACER FOOTBALL - THE PERFECT SEASON - CENTER RESULTS

The stage was set for a masterful performance between two 9-0 Pioneer Valley League teams on Friday night at Placer High school. One was in green and the other wore powder blue. The game between the unbeaten Placer Hillman and the Center Cougars had it all but when the last seconds slipped away it was the Hillman who were crowned champions as they defeated the Cougars by a score of 15-14.

Placer scored a field goal on the games opening drive and Center scored two touchdowns in the second quarter on the back of their running back D'Juan Bellaire, when the teams went into lockerrom at the half the score was 14-3 in favor of the Cougars.

The Hillman scored in the third quarter but still trailed at 15-9 and took the lead with 3:30 to play in the game.

With under 2 minutes Center had driven the ball deep into Placer's end of the field. The Cougars found themselves at 4th and two at the 30 when their quarterback slipped in the mud which gave the ball to the Hillman as well as the PVL championship.

The Placer quarterback Pete Denham entered Friday's game throwing 4 interceptions on the season was picked off three times by Center. Isaac Brahce carried the load in the second half as the Hillman's primary ball carrier.

Both teams played well enough to win but the better team won in the end. This game was one for the ages, be sure to check back to watch a replay of the game. Paul Brown, Steve Sitter and myself called the PVL championship game for Touchdown Productions as their game of the week.
