Dean Hopper pitched five innings shutout innings striking out nine against Hard 90 in game one of the twin-bill. Justin Powell came on to close the game out in the sixth but the Sox made a few errors behind the right hander, who pitched a very solid inning.
While Powell was warmed up the Brown Sox manager called on Powell to start the second game of the day when they took on Future Prospects of Marin County. The Sox fell behind by three early in the contest. Powell was relieved by Brekyn Vasquez who pitched a solid outing. Nathan Van Patten closed the game by throwing 11 consecutive strikes.
The Brown Sox had many chances to applied pressure to the scoreboard but the Prospects found a way to end every rally which the Sox mounted as they fell 4-2.
The Brown Sox Play again on Sunday at 12 and 2 p.m.
