BEAR RIVER CROSS COUNTRY SCARES PLACER AT COLFAX

Colfax High School was the site of the second Pioneer Valley League meet for Cross Country and the race of the day did not disappoint as the varsity girls for Bear River and Placer squared off.

It was a tight race to the finish as Bear River gave Placer a scare and finished second by only four points.

Mary Nattrass lead the Lady Bruins with a dominating race and 1st place overall finish in a time of 21:07.  Great performances by Kimmy Pugel - 6th, Sierra Mitchell - 8th, Cecilia Malik - 9th, Hallie Pettitt - 10th, Rachel Olsen - 19th, and Jessica Meylor - 22nd rounded out the girls varsity.

On the boys side, Alex Coffman, Bear River's number one runner continues to work his way back from injury in impressive style.  He finished the boys varsity race in 3rd place covering the 5K course in a time of 17:27.

Next up for the Bruins is the Bella Vista Bronco Invitational at Folsom High School on Saturday, October 13th.
