The first workshop on October 28th is for those anglers that are looking for an introduction to "Switch or Light Spey Rods". Its for those anglers that want to learn how to swing flies for aggressive steelhead and native trout. Bring your switch or light spey rod or if you don't have one we'll have rods for you to try out and cast. Tom Page will be stocking "Echo" switch and spey rods at "The Reel Anglers Fly Shop" in Grass Valley. We'll have some for you to try out.

This workshop will be taught using  a "FFT Switch Rod Booklet" for you to take home with you. The booklet covers rigging a switch rod and goes into detail regarding.
  • Lining a switch rod properly
  • Using Skagit and Scandi head
  • Using integrated lines like a "Rio Switch Line" or a "Beulah Elixer Line"
  • Using Versileaders or Polyleaders
  • Using MOW tips
  • Using weighted tips like T-8, T-11 or T-14
