VOLLEYBALL - NEVADA UNION AT BEAR RIVER OUTLOOK



This Thursday the two Nevada County high schools will clash on the volleyball court at Jack McCrory Gymnasium on the campus of Bear River High School.

The freshman team will play at 4 p.m. with the JV (5 p.m.) and Varsity (6 p.m).

Bear River's Varsity team has an overall record of 14-7 while NU has a 13-7 record.

The Miner's are led by junior outside hitter Emily Segel who has compiled 103 kills as well as senior outside hitter Sierra Payne who has delivered 112 kills.

NU setter Jamie Gustafson has 156 assists while Lindsay Meyer has 200 on the season.

The Lady Bruins rely heavily on senior outside hitter Sara Schell who has 182 kills and 106 digs along with junior hitter Kristen Pereira who has 123 kills and 90 digs

Bear River's setter Kaya Johnson has 401 assists on the season.

Nevada Union is coming off a 3-1 loss on Saturday to and they play top notch program St. Francis to while Bear River is coming a 2-0 loss to Oakmont.

In many year the Lady Miners have very little trouble with cross county rival, this season could be different. See you courtside.
