The
Bear River Cross Country Team started the 2012 race season off by
competing in the Nevada Twilight Cross Country Classic in Sparks Nevada
on Saturday night. The Bruins did not disappoint. The girls varsity
came away with a championship in the small school varsity division and
look strong to begin the season. Solid performances by top seven
runners Mary Nattrass, Cecilia Malik, Kimmy Pugel, Sierra Mitchell,
Hallie Pettitt, Rachel Olsen, and Jessica Meylor helped to bring home
the victory. The boys varsity ran a good race as well with strong
performances by first time Bruin Harriers Dakota Andrews and Patrick
Gillis. The future looks bright for these two freshman.
The Bruins will be back on the trail on Wednesday September 12 for their first Sierra Foothill League meet of the season at Willow Hills Reservoir/Folsom.
