BEAR RIVER MINOR TOC CHAMPIONS

Bear River's regular season top two minor's finishing teams, the Yankees and Royals faced off Tuesday evening for the right to represent it's league in the District 11 Tournament of Champions. The Royals move on in a 5-2 win over the Yankees.

The Royals started the game single, single in the top of the first but Yankees' ace Justin Powell pitched out of the jam. The Yankees did strike first blood on an errant throw to take the lead in the bottom half of the first 1-0.

The Royals knotted the game with a bunt, but fail to score again with bases loaded as Powell struck out the remaining two batters of the inning.

The Royals regained the lead on a single, a few passed balls and an errant throw to move the score to 2-1. But in the bottom half on inning Weston Prosser RBI single scored Braden Fowler to tie the contest at 2-2 at the end of the third.

The Royals, again took the lead in the top of the fourth by way of a fielders choice by Connor Tidd who drove home Brandon Sorenson who made it aboard with a single. The Royals added to their lead in the top of the fifth by scoring another run. Mathew Dalbon singled and scored the games final run off a single by Mathew Phipps in the 5-2 win.
