BEAR RIVER TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS OUTLOOK

With the conclusion of the regular season looming, Bear River Little League is preparing to send it's teams to the upcoming District 11 Tournament of Champions which begins this weekend.

The tournament's first pitch will take place this Saturday at the Mid-Placer Little League field in Newcastle for the Minor Division TOC. Bear River's entry into the annual event is Brad Dalbon’s Royals. They will meet the Sierra Foothill A's at 10 a.m. in a first round game.

The two teams did meet twice this spring. The Athletics won the first contest by a score of 9-8 and the Royals won the second 7-2.

Majors

In major's action, the Bear River Angels (Bear River "A") will play Sierra Foothill "B." A Sierra Foothill father told me the "B" team is the Giants. The two teams played on May 14 and the Angels won the game 12-5. The BR Angels and SF Giants play on Monday, June 18, at Tri-City Little League Park in Rocklin. Game time will be 5 p.m.

As for the second and final Bear River Team (Bear River "B"), If Dodgers win tonight against the Nevada City Angels, they will be the "B" team but if they lose, then the Giants are the "B" team. Which ever team is fortunate enough to represent, they will play the Penn Valley "A" team and if the PVLL website is correct they will play the Giants on June 18 at 7:30 following the Bear River Angels game.

The BR Dodgers defeated the PV Giants 6-5 on June 1 and the BR Giants also dropped the PV Giants 10-0 on June 5.
