The Bear River Little League Minor's Tournament of Champions started on Sunday and the first game went to the Tigers over the Blue Jays and in the night-cap it was the Giants 19-14 over the Cardinals. The winners move on to round two while the losers are done for the season.
The Tigers held off a late game Jays come back winning 9-8. Anthony Vierra pitched the final inning and went to full count with the bases loaded when Vierra got the final batter with a strike-out. The Tigers will take on the number two seeded Royals at 4:45 on the minor's field on Monday.
The Giants and Cards used many pitchers to complete the game as they played each other so there came into the contest with a limited rotation on Saturday, it was compounded as both team's dressed nine players.
