JESUIT SHORTSTOP TAKEN IN THIRD ROUND


The Philadelphia Phillies selected Jesuit High School shortstop Zach Green with their third round pick in the 2012 draft. Green stands 6-foot-3, 195 pounds. It's said he used a wooden bat this season while hitting .417 with 15 RBIs at the plate and in the field he had 62 attempts with only two errors.

Green will now decide if he will forgo his opportunity to play at Oregon State to play with the Phillies.

The Marauders went 20-8 on the season and fell to Vacaville in the first round by a score of 3-2.
