BEAR RIVER LITTLE LEAGUE 6/9/12

Majors

BR Dodgers vs SF Angels

With the Dodgers 8-3 win over the Sierra Foothill Angels on Saturday they will need only one more win to mathematically clinch the final Tournament of Champion's bid. Bear River was led by starting pitcher Harry Zea who pitched three innings while giving up three unearned runs. Dillon Scott broke open the game in the fifth with a two RBI single to break the 3-3 tie.

Josiah Cregar relieved Zea in the fourth where he proceeded to give up one unearned run and Bradley Dzioba closed out the game giving up none.

In addition to Scott's single the Dodgers were led at the plate by Cregar who went one for two, Dzioba one for two, Jaden Gravatt one for two.

The Dodgers will need to defeat either the Sierra Foothill Giants on Tuesday or the Nevada City Angels on Thursday to seal the deal.

BR Giants at SF Rangers

The Giants traveled to Applegate Ball Fields on Saturday and won 13-2. Clay Corippo started for Bear River throwing four innings giving up one run while Jake Rogers finished the game, giving up the other Ranger's run.

Bear River used the long ball to keep their TOC bid hopes alive. Liam Hayes, Justin Kilgore, and Corripo all drove the ball out of the park. Tyler Cross went three for three in the win.

BR Angels host SF Nationals

The Angels won their final contest of the regular season 22-2 over the Sierra Foothill Nationals to move their record to 17-1.


Ryan Solomon started for the Bear river going two innings, he was followed by Owen Dalbon, Anthony Crawford and Porter Elliott finished the game. 

The Nationals fell behind early as they started the game with four errors and Solomon singled, Dean Hopper delivered a two RBI single followed by Mason Giordano's singles to move the score to 5-0 in the bottom of the first. The Angels kept the pressure on with Crawford singling as did Porter Elliott and Jake Leonard. At the close of the first inning Bear River held an 11-0 lead.



The Angels rally continued into the second when Hopper singled, Giordano singled Bradford singled, Crawford RBI singled, Jordan Elliott RBI singled, Leonard hit into a fielders choice which was good for an RBI. Solomon Hit an RBI single, Scotty Sandstadt singled and Fenton made it aboard by way of error which was good for an RBI to move the score to 22-0 by the end of the third.

 The Nationals did get on the board on a double to right off of Porter Elliot, the game ended as Hopper (playing right-field) fielded the double and proceeded to hit the cutoff man (Leonard) who threw it to Angels catcher (Fenton) for a tag out at the plate in the 22-2 contest.


Minors

BR Tigers at SF Yankees

The Bear River Tigers won a forfeit game 1-0 over the Sierra Foothill Yankees at Applegate Ball Fields on Saturday.

BR Cards at BR Giants

 The Cardinals won over the Giants by a score of 14-12.

BR Yankees at SF Giants

The Yankees keep rolling with a 13-2 win over the Sierra Foothill Giants on Saturday. Brekyn Vasquez pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win. Justin Powell went 1 2/3 giving up no runs and he was relieved by Colton Jenkins 1 1/3 giving up one run and Braden Fowler closed the the final inning also giving up one run.

Jenkins bat stayed hot as he delivered an inside the park grand slam and a two RBI triple which tallied a total of six of the Yankees runs.

Blaynne Rogers went two for two at the plate while Powell, Vasquez, Damian Christen, Weston Prosser, Patrick Underwood and Fowler all hit safely in the win.
