Markleeville California is located about an hours drive south of Reno Nevada and due west of Minden. My family and I have been camping at Grover Hot Springs for seven consecutive summers and we shall retrun in 2013.
Grover Hot Springs State Park and Campground is located four miles outside of Markleville.
Remember to not leave your fire unattended.
The ranger station is where you pay for your camping spot as well as purchase ice and wood. If you do come to camp bring your own wood as the wood they offer burns fast.
There are many hiking opportunities.
We experienced rain and lightning.
View of Hot Springs from the parking lot.
At the top of the stares is where the hot water (140 degrees) comes out of the ground
Video shows the boiling water coming out of the ground

How it works
The Markleeville General store has just about anything you may need while staying in the area.
We did not a see a bear but liked the sign anyway.
If you like to camp but don't like to get dirty, this is the place for you. You will find clean hot showers, flush toilets and a very nice creek.....as well as the Hot bath!
