9/21 at River Valley at 7:30 p.m.

9/29 at Scotts Valley at 2 p.m.

10/5 at Colfax at 7:30 p.m.

10/12 at Placer at 7:30 p.m.

10/19 vs Center at 7:30 p.m.

10/26 vs Lincoln at 7:30 p.m.

11/2 vs Foothill at 7:15 p.m.

While taking a look back at last year's varsity team which went 7-4 including a first round loss in the Sac-Joaquin section playoffs to Sonora 42-20, it could be a rebuilding year for the Bruins. Unless this past season's JV players who are moving up the ranks who went 8-2 on the season can fill the gaps where needed. Bear River's 2011 team was a senior laden team, so this years squad will take to the grid iron with very little varsity experience.

Bear River plays in the Pioneer Valley league which includes; Placer, Lincoln, Colfax, Foothill and Center. In 2011 the Bruins finished PVL league play with a 2-3 record landing them in fourth place. The team struggled to score in many contests but their defense kept them in most league contest. Their stingy "D" led the league in fewest point allowed with 226. Returning players Cody Heard and Michael Raigoza will carry the work load for the Bruins. Click here for a full roster which was printed in the Union.
