The 56th annual game Optimist All-Star Football Classic, will kick off at noon at Del Oro High School with seniors from the North pitted against the South on Saturday. In what could be classified as a civil war.

TouchDown Productions will air the Optimist game for the very first time on a tape delay same day basis on NCTV Comcast Ch 11, Sudden Link Ch 16 and ACTV Ch 20 in Auburn and streaming on the web at www.nevadacountytv.org This will be the only telecast of this great traditional game. DVD's will also be available immediately after the game to take home.

Local featured players; Tanner Vallejo - Nevada Union, Stone Sander and Eddie Vanderdose- Placer, will play in the noon game.

There will be two games to watch. The first game is the large schools followed by the small schools which will kickoff at 5 p.m.

The North team will be coached by Scott Savoie and Terry Logue of Bear River which will feature Placer linebacker Tony Suverkropp and running backs Isaac Brahce and Mike Robinson as well as Cody Heard and Zach Winter of Bear River along with Caleb Van Patten from Valley Christian.

The South, headed by Brad Rickert of Bradshaw Christian, will include running backs D'Juan Bellaire of Center.
It is do to rain and be very cold so if you do not want to brave the weather be sure to check back here as I will post a replay of both games in there entirety as I will be calling the noon game for Touchdown Productions.
