NEVADA UNION FROSH FALL IN CHAMPIONSHIP


The Bear River Freshman basketball tournament was won by Oak Ridge for the fourth consecutive year as they defeated the Lady Miners in the championship game.

Nevada Union was over matched as they fell behind 17-3 at the edn of the first quarter. Both team executed the 1-3-1 press but it was Oak Ridge who was able to deliver the the execution at the rim.

Oak Ridge was clearly the top team as there nearest competitor was defeated by 27 point.

Bear River vs Colfax

The Lady Bruins battled Pioneer Valley Foe to a 36-24 loss and the Falcons earned the third place trophy. The Bruins stayed close and trailed 16-14 at the half as they play aggressive defense and took care of the ball.

In the second half it was all Falcons as the Bruins did not get after the ball while Colfax knocked down 4 three point shot to extended their lead.

Ponderosa vs Roseville

Ponerosa used it rebounding prowess to drop Roseville for a 42-12 final on Saturday at Bear River High School as they put back many second chance shots.

Pondo deplyoed a 2-3 zone while Rosevill did not have an answer as they jumped out to a 13-4 first quarter lead and did not look back.

Placer vs Golden Sierra

Placer defeated Golden Sierra by 8 points as the Hillgals led the entire game.
