Bear River's Boy's basketball team rebounded after receiving their only loss of the season to El Camino by a score of 61-54 to win three consecutive games over the weekend to grab the Victory Christian Tournament championship.
In game one at Victory Christian High school it was Justin Beskeen playing as usual scoring 27 but the difference makers in the contest were Tyler Hajewski scoring 19, Braden Duncan 11 and Nick Bachus who lifted the Bruins as they dropped Valley Christian by a score of 96-73.
In game two Travis Anderson went 5-for-6 from the field while Justin Beskeen scored 20 and Michael Raigoza dished out 8-assists in the Bruins win over Forest Lake Christian by a score of 71-33.
In the Championship game Bear River (7-1) played without their senior scoring leader Justin Beskeen but that did not slow down the Bruins as they clamped down on defense. Charlie Espinoza led the team in scoring with 14 along with 8 rebounds, Hajewski 7 points with 8 rebounds, Anderson chipped in 9 points which resulted in a 47-43 Championship win for Bear River.
Beskeen in averaging 23 points per game which is good for a #4 ranking at maxpreps of all Sac-Joaquin section players who have played 7 or more games and of those players he has the highest shooting percentage at 63%.
The Bruins will be back in action on Tuesday at Pioneer.
