The Bear River Bruins Varsity girls basketball team (Sacbee has them ranked at #11) hosted the Tigers from Roseville High School on Tuesday night where the host team brought out the broom as they swept the visitor in non-conference action.
The Bruins Varsity squad will be back on the court on Friday when they play Rocklin in the first round of the Placer Tournament.
I had to leave to attend a School board meeting so I don't have the final score but I heard they won.
JUNIOR VARSITY
The Junior Varsity game was very lopsided from the tip-off as Roseville did not get a shot off until 4 minutes into the game with the score 11-0. The Tigers did fight back as they trailed 11-5 after the first quarter.
Bear River continued to extend their lead to 23-10 at the half, 33-15 after three and closing the game out with a final scored of 47-17.
Bear River's starting rotation was just to fast and skilled for the Tigers as they administered their full court press and knocked down many three point shots as well as crashed the boards.
FRESHMAN
The Bear River Freshman team picked up the win in an overtime thriller 32~31. The Bruins trailed most of the game but fought back and knocked down a 3-pointer to knot the game at the end of regulation at 29-29 and then added another 3-point shot with 6-seconds to play earning the win.
