BEAR RIVER FOOTBALL - FOOTHILL - PLAYOFF - REVIEW

The Bear River Bruins football team looks as if they have earned a spot in the CIF playoffs. So tonight's home game against Foothill is all about bracket positioning. While it is possible for them to get a home game, they will need a lot of help from the field of teams also playing tonight. Which seems very unlikely. So Bear River fans need to be prepared to hit the road this coming Friday night.

Prior to the final regular season games the playoff standings look like this.

Division IV
Seed, projected win total
  1. Ripon 10
  2. Argonaut (Jackson) 10
  3. Capital Christian (Sacramento) 9
  4. Dixon 9
  5. Central Catholic (Modesto) 8
  6. Calaveras (San Andreas) 8
  7. Center (Antelope) 8
  8. Los Banos 8
  9. Escalon 8
  10. Summerville (Tuolumne) 8
  11. Bear River (Grass Valley) 8
  12. Amador (Sutter Creek) 7
  13. Modesto Christian 6
  14. Hughson 6
  15. Hilmar 6
  16. Colfax 5

Notes:
Colfax is projected to beat Lincoln this Friday. Colfax opponents are projected to have 51 total wins.

The Bruins (7-2, 2-2) currently in third place in the PVL behind Center and Placer who are both undefeated and ranked 11, it looks as if Bear River would travel to San Andreas to take on Calaveras if the projections stand.

But first they will have to get past Foothill (1-8, 0-4), which on paper, BR shouldn't have any trouble. But that is why they play the game!
