Dustin Thompson of the Nevada City Red Sox led off with an infield single on Thursday night who later moved to third on a throwing error by the NC Angels catcher while stealing second and later scored on a delayed steal to moves the score to 1-0 in the top of the first frame. The Angel's lead off hitter did not waste any time answering with a towering homer run over the left field wall at Pioneer park in Nevada City in inter-league play to knot the score.
Later in the contest the Red Sox got caught up in throwing the ball around the diamond which resulted in a run and later scored two more. Thompson scored the final run for the Red Sox in the 4-2 loss.
The Angels have been undefeated this spring while playing both the Red Sox as well as the Nevada City Giants and shall move into the Tournament of Champions as its league's number one seed.
