B.R.L.L. YANKEES THROW ONE HITTER AND FALL

Two Bear River Little League teams who were vying for a Tournament of Champions bid went head to head on Monday night which ended in thrilling fashion. The Yankees led 2-1 going into the fifth inning but the A's took advantage of an opportunity which resulted two unearned runs in the 3-2 win.

Justin Powell gave up only A's hit and recorded 4 strikeouts for the Yankees while Reid Zoldan also pitched four innings for the Athletics earning 10 of the 15 Yankees strikeouts.

The game was heavy on pitching and limited hitting as both teams combined for 5 hits. Four by the Yankees and one by the A's.

Powell was the only player in the game who had two hits on the night. Spencer Daley and Colton Jenkins also hit safely for the Yankees while Zoldan delivered the only hit for the Athletics in the win.
