The goal of the team is to develop players in a very competitive environment without compromising having fun. No player will be cut from the program unless the commitment of the player and family is not 100% as well as if there is a concern for player injury.
We plan to have a Brown team as well as a highly competitive tournament team Gold Team.
The Gold roster spots will be earned and only the organization's top producers will participate. This philosophy will give the Brown team's players something to work towards, as well as keeping the entire group competing and working hard for these highly sought after tournament positions.
The Brown team will give the developing player the opportunity to play and learn the game of full rules baseball while playing with and against some of the best 11U players in the area. The question of how does a player from the Brown team move to the Gold team? By getting better and beating out another player at a particular position or if a Gold team player can not attend a particular weekend tournament. Pitchers are always needed and this is a great way for your son to make the Gold team's roster.
We anticipate a high turnout rate with hopes of playing inter-squad games during the week which will save on mid-week travel as well as hosting and traveling to games with other Sacramento area travel teams on the weekends. If your son plays a fall sport please understand this is a 100% commitment.
In 2012 our Tournament roster listed 15 players from Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley, Lincoln, Bear River and Lakeview Little Leagues. We held practices and non-tournament games in Penn Valley's Western Gateway Park.
The financial commitment is a consideration. We do have practice fees, uniform fees, as well as tournament fees. This is an ongoing 100% commitment. We do not offer scholarships.
Example- If the weekend tournament is $500 and we have 10 players on the roster then the participation fee would be $50 per player.
