LITTLE LEAGUE ROUND UP - BEAR RIVER, NEVADA CITY, SIERRA FOOTHILL AND FORESTHILL


The Bear River Yankees dropped the Sierra Foothill Angels 10-0 in 5 innings behind the pitching of Brandon Sorenson, Ethan Warner and Colton Jenkins. Brandon started on the bump, throwing 34 pitches over 3 innings. In that span he threw 31 strikes and only 3 balls. Warner and Colton each threw an inning and looked good.

At the plate, Ethan Warner led the Yankees with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs. Logan Jenkins also added a double. The Yankees scored 10 runs on five hits as the Angels committed 6 errors and walked 7.

The Yankees take on the BR Athletics on Monday.

Tigers

The Bear River Tigers fell 9-3 to the Nevada City Angels in four innings of play on Saturday. Ryan Bradford started on the hill for the Tigers giving up 5 runs in the first inning on 5 hits a walk and a Tiger miscues. Mason Giordano pitched in relief striking out 4 while giving up the other 4 runs over the next three innings. The Tigers defense did commit 3 more errors in the loss.

Braden Fowler, Brennan Schad, CJ Castorina and Dean Hopper delivered the Tigers 4 hits of the game while the Angels hitter batted 10.

The Tigers will be back on the field on Tuesday when they take on the BR Brewers.

Brewers 

Bear River Little League's top team, the Brewers defeated the Sierra Foothill Rockies 15-5 in four innings on Saturday night at the Bear River major field. Josiah Cregar went the distance on the bump earning the win as well as going 3 for 3 at the plate including two doubles and a triple. Dylan Scott hit his second home run of the season while Jaden Gravatt and Anthony Vierra hit the fence on the fly. All 12 Brewers earned base hits in the lopsided win.

Athletics

Nathan Van Patten delivered a home run and a triple in his team's 15-1 victory over the Foresthill A's on Saturday afternoon.
