BEAR RIVER MAJOR YANKEES PICK UP WIN - ATHLETICS RESULTS

The Bear River Yankees put together a late game rally in the bottom of 5th inning scoring 6 on Monday night as they hosted the Forrest Hill major's team on way to a 15-10 final.

"The play of the game was made by Ethan Warner in the top of the 4th inning when he made a shoestring catch of a line drive in left field to end the inning and an A's rally." a friend of the program stated.

The Yankees led most of the way but the visiting team knotted the score at 9-all in the top of the fifth but the home team accepted the challenge and knocked the ball around in the bottom half of the inning.

Spencer Daly went 3-for-3 and John Luzi went 2 for 4 for the Yankees.

"Everyone was hitting the ball," a person who attended the game stated.

The Yankees started Logan Jenkins on the hill with Justin Powell, Peyton McGovern, Colton Jenkins as well as Ethan Warner finishing the game for the win.

The win is the first for the Yankees (1-2) as they have started the season with a very tough schedule.

The Yankees travel to Condon Park on Wednesday when they square off versus the Grass Valley Cubs.

Athletics

The Bear River Athletics stay hot as they defeated the Nevada City Red Sox 8-4 in a make up game also on Monday night. With the win the Athletics move to 3-0.

The A's host the Grass Valley Giants on Thursday with the first pitch scheduled for 6 pm.
