BEAR RIVER MAJOR ATHLETIC'S RESULTS - VAN PATTEN SHUTS DOWN GV GIANTS

The Grass Valley Giants traveled to the South County on Thursday night where they took on one of Bear River Little League's top teams, the Athletics.

Issac Ortega was called to start for the Giants while Nathan Van Patten was handed the ball on the bump for the A's.

Bear River jumped out to a 6-0 lead and Grass Valley called upon Adam Rassmusen in relief of Ortaga in the 3rd frame. The A's never looked back as Van Patten shut down Grass Valley from his first pitch to his last which resulted in a 13-0 victory by the home team.

Van Patten pitched a complete game shutout with 8 strikeouts.The 10 run rule was in effect and the game was ended in the middle of the fourth.

The Athletics (4-0) will take on the Bear River Tigers (0-3) on Saturday at 1 pm.
