BEAR RIVER JUNIOR BRUINS PEEWEE GRANT

The Bear River Junior Bruin's PeeWee football squad hosted the Grant Panthers for their first home game of the season on Saturday at Bear River High School. BR allowed just one touchdown and for the most part very few yards in their 32-6.

Clayton Anderson and Logan Jenkins make the tackle
" The entire defense played well," said the Bruin's Defensive coordinator Jeff Jenkins. Noah Gravatt made a great play in the third quarter at corner back to knock down a pass and prevent a TD. Linebacker Logan Jenkins, Jaden Gravatt and Calder Kunde were solid." "Sam Davis, Austin Slining and Daniel Tantem were excellent at defensive end and our entire line pitched in and kept them from running up the middle."

The most notable difference between the two teams was the size differential. "They had two interior lineman that weighed 250 pounds and our biggest guys is 120," head coach Cory Cregar said. "And we lost him in pregame warm ups, Chase Lugo broke his arm so it made us even that much smaller."

The Bruins offense was so prolific that they did not punt all day. Mason Giordano busted a run for 20 of his 25 yards on two carries and Trey Martin and Tantem scored their first touchdowns of the season.

In the Bruin's first drive of the game they marched down the field for first and goal at the one. The Pacers stopped the Bruins for three consecutive plays until Kunde broke the plane on forth down.

Josiah Cregar on the run
Bear River's quarterback Josiah Cregar was 8 for 12 for 50 yards along with 20 rushing and 20 receiving yards. Clayton Anderson also added 30 on the ground.

"We travel to undefeated Lincoln on Saturday," coach Cregar said. "Today's game was for the playoffs and next week is to see if we can win the whole thing."
