FERRARI'S CROWN RESORT - KINGS BEACH GEM - LAKE TAHOE

Over this past weekend (March 2013) we stumbled upon a resort which offered a great location with two swimming pools, two hot tubs, a private beach as well as clean rooms and a continental breakfast.

This establishment was opened in 1957 and it may not look like much from the street but once you get to the lakeside of the property you will see why this spot is so popular.

The glass wall which encase the pool area cut down on the cold wind which blows off the lake. We parked our car upon arrival and never needed it again. There is a very nice sushi restaurant directly across the street as well as a 7-11 and a slew of other businesses within walking distance. 

The Lake Tahoe is the third deepest in the U.S. at over 1500 feet. There are 67 streams which feed the lake and only the Truckee River allows water out. 

The outdoor hot tub was a big plus as the weather was nice but it was only 50 degrees. The view is forever and so were the laughs.

The Ritz Carlton is right up the street if you need a high end room but if what you need is a clean lake front room here is the spot.
