Logan Jenkins leads the offenses as the Bear River Little League Major Yankees outscore the Penn Valley Major White Sox 10-8. The scoreboard operators were busy at Western Gateway on Monday as Bear River and the Penn Valley combined for 18 runs. Jenkins unloaded with three hits which drove home four runs in the win.
The leadership which Jenkins showed at the plate Brandon Sorenson, Justin Powell and Peyton McGovern delivered on the bump. The each threw two innings giving up only one walk while Penn Valley allowed 7 which was the difference in the game.
Justin Powell also went 3 for 4 with a double as Sorenson was the only other Yankee to deliver a multiple hit game with two hits. The White Sox did out hit Bear River including a 3 run home run by James Nolan with a total of 12 hits with the Yankees only delivering 9.
Bear River had 4 hitters hitting safely on the night while Penn Valley had 9. Statistically the Sox won in every category except walks given up and the important one the final score.
