BEAR RIVER FROSH BASKETBALL FALLS - LINCOLN

Bear River's Freshman basketball team fells to Lincoln on Wednesday in Pioneer Valley League action 41 to 31.

The Bruins led most of the way through the first quarter but gave up the lead in the closing seconds to trail 6~5 at the horn. Both teams played a 2~3 zone defense as well as a high low offense. The Fighting Zebras pressured with a 1~2~2 full court press which created many Bear River turnovers.

The Bruins also committed a few fouls which put Lincoln on the foul line which resulted in the Zebras making 7 shots from the charity stripe to extend their lead into the half with the score 21~14.

Bear River's Dallas Penn knocked down a few 3 balls to lift the Bruins in the 3rd.

The home team stayed with the 2~3 zone while Lincoln switched to man to man which allowed Penn to use his athleticism and go one on one to cut the Zebra's lead to 1 at the close of the third at 28~27.

Bear River looked to be right back in the game until their low post player Ethan Nichol fouled out of the game which resulted in a few second chance shots for the Zebras which they capitalized to take the win.
