MINERS FALL AT HOMECOMING

As I walked out of Hooper Stadium, a few of the Miner faithful were discussing who was crowned homecoming king and queen. That very well could have been the highlight of Friday night's contest.

Nevada Union hosted Rocklin on Friday where the Miners never got it going on either side of the ball as they fell 39-9 to the Thunder.

The Miners were further exposed this week by a solid passing game just like in past games but the difference this week was the passes were not long passes but underneath the corner backs.

The first score of the game was set up by a Kniffin bootleg which you guessed it set up a Kniffing 10 yard passing Rocklin touchdown.

The Miners got on the board by the defense when Tanner Vallejo sacked the quarterback in the end zone for a 14-2 score.

NU did not score again until 3:20 to play in the fourth quarter for a 28-9 score. The Thunder used the ground game to score the games final touchdown of the game for a 34-9 final score.

The Miners have there work cut out for themselves as they now fall in two consecutive games and hold a 0-1 record in the very difficult Sierra Foothill League.

Nevada Union host Woodcreek next week. The Wolves have won three SFL contests in the past two season.

Placer defeated Woodcreek 55-14 this past Friday night.
