The Bear River Freshman volleyball team had a tough week as they were swept by Placer on Tuesday 2-0 and then swept by Colfax on Thursday 2-0.

In game one on Thursday the Falcons jumped out to a 13-6 lead by utilizing their outside hitters to win points. There were some long volleys but the Bruins were unable to capitalize, falling 25-14. In game one Bear River committed 8 service errors.

The In game two Colfax came out flat as the Bruins stayed close at 15-14 until the Falcons ripped off four consecutive points. The Falcons extended their lead to 23-16 but Bear River rallied to move the score but falling in the end 25-12.

Both Colfax and Placer used a bump, set and spike game plan where the Bruins went with a bump, set and tip. The Bruins fell to both team's power game.

The Bruins have had very little trouble defeating Lincoln and Center so it looks as if Bear River will end the first round of league play in third place in the Pioneer Valley League.
