The real estate website Zillow.com has a fun search program you may be interested in. If you type in your zip code the site will show you the average number of homes that have a mortgage that is higher than the current estimated sales price. They state the average home price in Nevada County with the zip code of ; 95949 is $226,600, 95959 is $245,900.
Click here for additional zip codes, average prices or for the percentage of homes in your area that are under water.
I found this one to be staggering, Sacramento 95834 is showing 71% of it's homes are currently under water.
