TOUGH NIGHT FOR THE BEAR RIVER YANKEES AND TIGERS


Both the Bear River Tigers and Yankees fall to the Cubs on Wednesday night. The Tigers hosted the Penn Valley Cubs which ended with the score 12-7 while the Yankees only made it into the 4th inning which ended with the score of 14-4.

The Tigers used a pitching rotation of Brayden Fowler, Shane Boyer, Connor "CJ" Castorina, and Connor Tidd all of which threw strikes. The Tigers had a 2-1 lead into the top of the third inning but the Cubs bats came alive as they took a 4-2 lead which the host team could not over come.

Top hitters of the game were Dean Hopper going 2 for 2, Ryan Bradford hit a triple and Connor Tidd delivered a late in the game single to keep the Tigers hopes alive.

The BR Yankees traveled to Condon Park where they were hosted by the Grass Valley Cubs for a 7:30 game. Top hitters for Bear River were Logan Jenkins who went 2 for 2 while Peyton McGovern and Branden Sorenson hit doubles. Colton Jenkins and Justin Powell added singles in the loss.

The Yankees (1-3) have a tough game on Saturday at 7 pm when they host the top ranked Bear River Brewers (5-0). The win less Tigers (0-3) play the BR Athletics (3-0) also on Saturday at 1 pm.
