In the first round of the Major's Division Fall Ball tournament it was Grass Valley Little League who advanced in a 3-2 pitchers duel over Nevada City Little League while Forrest Hill dropped Bear River in a 10-8 slug-fest.
Gabe Baker picked up the win in the game which was played at Condon Park on Tuesday. Grass Valley's manager utilized each of his pitchers for 35 pitches apiece which means he will be able to pitch anyone on his staff in the second round. GVLL's second round game will be played on Thursday at Condon Park with the first pitch at 5:30 when they will take on Forresthill.
Forresthill delivered with their bats as they out hit Bear River 13 to 4. Ty Knox pitched for Bear River and came out of the game when he hit his pitch limit going 4 2/3 innings with the score 8-6. Caleb Hurst closed the game. Hurst struck out 3. Hurst is available to throw on Thursday when they will take on Nevada City Little League at 5:30 at Pioneer Park as he pitched less than 35.
