BEAR RIVER LITTLE LEAGUE TWO FALL NONE STANDING

The season has come to a close for both the Bear River 9-10 and 10-11 All-Stars teams.

9-10

Dean Hopper took the loss pitching four and a third innings giving up five hits, one walk with seven strikeouts  as well as giving up a Lincoln two run home run by Manley which moved the score to 3-2 in the bottom of the second inning. Bear River failed to make plays down the stretch falling 13-3 in four innings.

BR held a 3-0 lead to start the bottom of the second inning on four walks a hit by pitch and singles by Brekyn Vasquez and Dean Hopper.

Bear River committed an error that knotted the contest, then with one out and the basses loaded Hopper fielded a ground ball throwing home to Colton Jenkins who proceeded to throw to third baseman Anthony Vierra for the double play to get out of the jam.

Jenkins hit a single with one out and Lincoln got a 1-6-3 double play of their own in the top of third.

Lincoln's short stop Lenus hit a lead off triple and the next batter hit him home for the 4-3 lead. Bear River committed another error which was one of nine on the night, took the wind out of the Bear River sails and they never recovered, Bo Culberson then singled for Lincoln and Hopper recorded two strikeouts to end the inning.

Hopper  was relieved at 75 pitches by Anthony Vierra and Justin Powell with the score at 7-3.

10-11

The Bear River 9-10 team fell 9-1 to Sierra Foothill at Western Gateway park in Penn Valley.

Reid Zoldan started for Bear River at pitcher. The game was knotted into the 5th inning at 1-1 when Elliot Boucheir was pulled at 20 pitches to save him for the following day. Logan Jenkins came on next followed by Cameron Kodai, Mason Harrison and Peyton McGovern.

Great Season boys be proud of your accomplishments.

  1. An honor to manage Dean, and look forward to more stats from this up and coming athlete. Thanks Scott for the updates and investment within our post season play.
