I SURVIVED TOUCHDOWN PRODUCTIONS GAME ONE

On Friday night I stood on the turf of Hooper Stadium for my rookie campaign as I was asked by Gil Domingez the executive producer of The Game of the Week by Touchdown Productions to call the game from the sideline.

The game itself resulted in Nevada Union defeating McQueen of Reno by a score of 27-10.

Jim Adams and Paul Brown were a big help to me as was Gil. I was nervous at first but as the night played on I became a little more at ease. Please watch the video of the game and please let me know how I did and what you would like to hear about at the Grant game on Friday night. Enjoy.

NEVADA COUNTY BEER FESTIVAL 2012 REVIEW

The Nevada County Brewers festival which was held at the Nevada County Fair grounds on Saturday was a big hit. It was estimated there were 2,000 people in attendance to taste the suds being offered by the 51 brewers. The proceeds of the event went to the Music in the Mountains organization. The line to get in was much longer than any line to tasted the beer.

The crowd was what you expect at a beer tasting, 70% were men and thank goodness there were not many parents who brought their children.

The Eel River IPA was one of my favorite offerings

American River's Fire Break Red Ale offered a great flavor.

My best in show went to American River which offered a Habanero Pepper beer called Incinerator. It was not offered to the general public but a friend knows the brewer so we were able to tap the secret stash.

The event ran from 3 to 6:30, which at first I thought was a little short but as the minutes passed it was evident to me as to why it was only 3.5 hours.

Beautiful evening

This guts shirt was filthy and he was falling down drunk.

This guy stayed at the event way to long, he embarrassed himself and he did not even know it.

The back of his shirt was covered in dirt. He fell multiple times and was speaking to every female who walked by him and not favorable I may add.

Good event and would god again.

TOUCHDOWN PRODUCTIONS - NEVADA UNION KICKS OFF TONIGHT

Nevada Union football kicks off tonight at 7:30 and so do I. The Miner's will start their 2012 season at Hooper Stadium and again so will I. While the team plays McQueen of Reno, I will be standing on the sidelines with a head set on listening to Jim and Marty who will be calling the game for Touchdown Productions with a camera pointed at me. Gil Dominguez has asked me to report the game from the sideline, which of course I grabbed that ball and ran with it, in hopes of scoring. Next week we go to Grant for the NU game which very well could be the biggest game of the year for both schools.

I'm excited to play a small part within this special group of people and who bring light upon this special time in the lives of the kids. For many players this will be a highlight of their lives and I thank the Touchdown Productions team for their efforts in giving the kids the spotlight.

I'm not real sure what my style as a reporter will be or what question I plan to ask, or who I will ask the questions to, but what I do know is I intend to have a great time.

I will Blog about the game for your reading pleasure on Saturday morning. I hope to share some video as well as an off beat tidbit about the game. This is something that I will surely enjoy and I hope you will enjoy reading and watching my clips as the season rolls along.

Touchdown Productions Executive Producer Gil Domingez sat down with The Union's Sports Editor Walter Ford and talked Nevada County football recently at a Grass Valley Thursday Night Market.
