Why do I coach youth sports teams? This is a very simple answer. I coach with hopes of instilling a love of the game so the player may be interested in coaching his children when he gets older.
The photo above was sent to me by a player that I have coached a few seasons. While I did not expect any player to list me as their hero. But it does reinforce that I'm on the right track as his mentor.
If you are a coach of children, it's not if you win or lose the game, it is how you made them feel about the game that is the most important. Thank you for keeping me going with your positive words.
